About us

Therefore, everything started
roughly 30 years ago. We were looking for a quite remote
place, to get away from the crowded beaches (we owned a
villa at the seaside), and close to a lake to keep
enjoying the pleasure of water. With the assistance of
some friends, we found a branch of the
Parapanema
river dam close to
Avaré> (western state
of São Paulo) that answered to the melodious name of
Jurumirim.
The place was perfectly uninhabited:
the area for sale had no crop, not even an old shack to
take refuge while we decided to build our house. A
reasonable size (less than 100 hectares), an affordable
price and an uninterrupted view of the lake made us take
the first step in the direction of what is the
Massaranduva Fazenda
today.
Since we love horses, the farm
activity first revolved round a small Arabian horse
breeding of which we still own some. However, we quickly
bought some dairy cows to be able to drink our own milk.
Over the years, the cows multiplied, the equipment
modernized, and one thing leading to another, the face
of the farm changed: large masonry silos were dug,
metallic grain silos grew, new farm buildings appeared,
and today, side by side, our dwelling houses a large
aviary close to the water live together with a farm in
constant evolution.
